Carlos do Carmo

Carlos Manuel de Ascenção do Carmo de Almeida ComIH (21 December 1939 – 1 January 2021) better known as Carlos do Carmo, was a Portuguese fado singer.[1] He began singing and recording in 1963. His first EP record was "Mário Simões e o seu Quarteto Apresentando Carlos do Carmo". His most famous songs are Lágrimas de Orvalho, Lisboa Menina e Moça and Canoas do Tejo.

Carmo represented Portugal at the 1976 Eurovision Song Contest with "Uma flor de verde pinho".

Carmo died on 1 January 2021 from problems caused by a ruptured aneurysm in Lisbon, aged 81.[2]
