Charles Wheeler (journalist)

Charles Wheeler (1923–2008)[1] was a British journalist.

Wheeler went to school at Cranbrook in Kent. His first job was at the Daily Sketch. In 1942 he joined the Royal Marines. He took part in D Day. In 1946 he joined the BBC. He worked on the 1948 Olympics and on the TV programme Panorama. He went to India in 1958 and in 1962 married Dip Singh. His daughter Marina was married to Boris Johnson. He later presented Newsnight. He was made a knight in 2006. He died of lung cancer.[2]
