Cinderella (opera)
Cinderella (Italian: [La Cenerentola] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is an opera by Gioachino Rossini. It was first performed in Rome in January 1817. It is based on the 1697 fairy tale, "Cinderella" by Charles Perrault. The opera's title character is a coloratura mezzo-soprano. The overture has long been a favorite in the concert hall.
