Cleveland State University is a public university in Cleveland, Ohio. The university has about 17,204 students. It was founded in 1881 as Fern College and then was later established again in 1964 when it was renamed Cleveland State University. The current president of the university is Ronald M. Berkman.

Sports

The athletics teams of the university are called the Vikings. They have 17 varsity teams and they compete in the Horizon League and the Eastern Wrestling League for wrestling.

Cleveland State University opened in 1965 at the former site of Fenn College, with several new buildings added to expand the campus since then. This picture shows the Rhodes Tower, constructed from 1968 to 1971, which is the tallest building on campus and is home to the university's library and offices, and the second tallest purpose-built educational building in the United States, after the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh.
