2019 Dayton shooting

A mass shooting happened at a bar in Dayton, Ohio, United States, on August 4, 2019, at 1:05 a.m. Eastern Time. Ten people were killed, including the perpetrator, and at least 27 others were injured. The gunman was killed by police within 30 seconds of the first shots being fired.[2]

A search into the shooter's home found writings that showed interest in killing people. The attack was the second mass shooting in the United States in 13 hours, following one in El Paso, Texas.

Police reported that all the fatalities occurred outside the bar on East 5th Street, and that the shooter's 22-year-old sister, Megan Betts, was among those killed.[3][4][5]
