Dennis Green
Dennis "Denny" Green (February 17, 1949 – July 22, 2016) was a head coach for the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals, in the National Football League. He also coached college football for Northwestern University and Stanford University. He was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Interview
“ | The Bears are what we thought they were. They're what we thought they were. We played them in preseason — who the hell takes a third game of the preseason like it's bullshit? Bullshit! We played them in the third game — everybody played three quarters — the Bears are who we thought they were! That's why we took the damn field. Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were! And we let 'em off the hook! | ” |
After the Cardinals' loss to the Chicago Bears in 2006, Green erupted in an angry interview, because the Cardinals were winning by 20 points first, but then the Bears came back and won, with the Cardinals kicker Neil Rackers missing the game-winning field goal.[1]
Death
Green died suddenly of a massive heart attack in Minneapolis, Minnesota on July 22, 2016, aged 67.[2]
