Donald I (C.812-13th April 862) was king of Scotland from 858 until his death in 862. He was the son of Alpin II of Dál Riata. Donald I's reign began on the 13th of February, 858, after his brother, Kenneth died from a tumor. Nothing entirely notable occurred during his reign; Donald I died on the 13th of April, 862, 4 years and 2 months into his reign. He died from disease, according to the Prophecy of Berchán. He was succeeded by his nephew, Constantine.
