Edward Joseph McManus
Edward Joseph McManus (February 9, 1920 – March 20, 2017)[1] was an American politician and judge. He served as the 36th Lieutenant Governor of Iowa from 1959 through 1961 and later served as a United States federal judge for over 50 years from 1962 until his death in 2017.[2] He was a Democrat.
At the time of his death, McManus was the longest serving living federal judge.[3]
McManus was born in Keokuk, Iowa. He studied at the University of Iowa. McManus died on March 20, 2017 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, aged 97.
