Erbil Governorate
Erbil (Arabic: أربيل, Kurdish: [ههولێر] Error: {{Lang}}: text has italic markup (help) Hewlêr; also written Arbil or Irbil) is a province which is part of the autonomous Kurdistan Region located in the north of Iraq. The area is 14,428 square kilometres (5,571 sq mi). Its capital is the city of Erbil which is also the capital city of the entire Kurdistan Region. According to Erbil governorate census in 2009, Erbil population was 1,720,000.
