Nürnberger was born in Hamburg.[3] Following the season, Nürnberger received his first professional contract in May 2019, which is valid until 2021.[4]
On 13 March 2020, 1. FC Nürnberg announced that Nürnberger had tested positive for COVID-19.[5]
