Felszabadulás dala

The Felszabadulás dala (pron. [ɒ ˈfɛlsɒbɒdulaːʒ ˈdɒlɒ] "aw FEL-saw-baw-doo-lazh DAW-law"; en. 'Song of Liberation') is a communist Hungarian patriotic song. It was first created during Rákosi Mátyás's rule in order to celebrate Liberation Day on April 4 when the Soviet Red Army drove the Nazis away from Hungarian territory in 1950.[1][2] It was written and composed by Hungarian musician Ernő Rossa (1909–72).[3]

Indulj az útra és vissza ne nézz!
Múltad a fájó bús ezer év.
Rád ragyog végre a fényteli nap.
Boldogan, vígan mondd hát a dalt!

Refrén:
𝄆 Április négyről szóljon az ének,
Felszabadulva zengje a nép.
Érc torkok harsogva zúgják a szélnek
Felszabadítók hősi nevét! 𝄇

Dörgött az ágyú és zúgott a gép!
Vérzett a föld és zengett az ég.
Győzött a szovjetek hős serege.
Századok könnyét így mosta le.

Refrén[4]

Рефре́н:

Фелсабадулва зенгје а не́п.
Е́рц торкок харшогва зу́гја́к а се́лнек

Са́задок көнње́т и́ђ мошта ле.

Рефре́н

Off to the future, never looking back,
Thy history of misery and wrack.
And yet now the Sun is shining o'er Thee,
So may we chant our song with glee.

Chorus:
𝄆 Let us sing about Liberation Day,
Overjoyed, we are now free—hooray!
Let our throats cleave the air as we all clamour,
For the name of our liberator! 𝄇

Cannons roared and artillery shrieked,
Pierced our ground and our souls piqued.
Yet the Soviets saved us from harm's way,
And now hatred has faded away.

Chorus[5]
