Ніколі + Полісинтетичні двійники основного плагіоклазу (смугасто-сірі), піроксен (червоні і сині кольори інтерференції) та поодинокі зерна хлориту (зелені). Вулканічне скло чорне (ізотропне). Зразок із верхньої частини лавового потоку базальтового кар'єру "Базальтові стовпи" (Волинь)
English: Thin section of basalt from Ukraine. Crystals of plagioclase (striped grey), pyroxene (red and blue interference colours) and a few grains of chlorite (green). Volcanic glass is black (isotropic). A sample from the top of a lava flow of a basalt quarry at Volyn.
