Македонски: Експеримент кој ги демонстрира дехидратационите својства на концентрираната сулфурна киселина. При контакт на концентрирана сулфурна киселина со сахароза, доаѓа до постепено јагленисување (карбонификација) на сахарозата. Реакцијата е проследена со ослободување на гасовити продукти кои овозможуваат образување на сунѓереста маса од јаглерод, која се издигнува од чашата. Реакцијата, приближно може да се опише со равенката:
2C12H22O11(s) + 2H2SO4(l) = 23C(s) + CO2(g) +2SO2(g) + 24H2O(g).
Осмислено и изведено од Марина Стојановска, Миха Буклески и Владимир Петрушевски, Институт за хемија, ПМФ, УКИМ, Скопје.
English: An experiment that demonstrates the dehydration properties of concentrated sulfuric acid. When concentrated sulfuric acid comes into contact with sucrose, slow carbonification of the sucrose takes place. The reaction is accompanied by evolving of gaseous products that contribute to the formation of the foamy carbon product that rises above the beaker. The reaction can be described by the equation:
2C12H22O11(s) + 2H2SO4(l) = 23C(s) + CO2(g) +2SO2(g) + 24H2O(g).
