Summary

Description
English: A rusty sniper shield, placed at a dead end in one of the trenches used during World War I at the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Sniper shields were used to take aim safely during combat, and to avoid incoming (sniper) fire from the enemy. The shield and trenches can be found at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial Park, also known as the Vimy Ridge National Historic Site of Canada, near the small town of Vimy, France.
