Summary
| Description |
English: A Neuse River waterdog (Necturus lewisi). These aquatic salamanders are indicators of healthy water since they’re sensitive to low oxygen and polluted waters. The cold doesn’t bother them though. Near-freezing water temperatures stimulate them to find mates. |
