Francia Márquez
Francia Elena Márquez Mina (born 1 December 1981)[2] is a Colombian human-rights and environmental activist who is the Vice President of Colombia since 2022.[3]

In August 2020, Márquez announced her candidacy for President of Colombia in the 2022 election. She is the first Colombian woman of African descent to run for the presidency.[4] She later became the vice presidential candidate for Gustavo Petro's presidential campaign and won the election in June 2022, becoming the country's first black female vice president.[5]
In 2019, the BBC listed Francia Márquez on their 100 Women for that year.[6]
