Career

Martin started his career in Middlesbrough, where he advanced through the youth system and was given a scholarship. He was a very good striker in his youth. In his senior career, he played in a few pre-season matches with Middlesbrough, but he was eventually loaned to the Hungarian team of Újpest.

After leaving Middlesbrough, he was bought be the Icelandic Íþróttabandalag Akraness that was playing in the 1. deild karla. Although he was only supposed to stay for one season, he eventually stayed for two, and made his first goal against Þór Akureyri.[1]

After a successful season, Martin was bought by the Icelandic champions Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur for a small fee. Martin was the co-top scorer in 2013, and the top scorer in 2014. He was given the award of best foreign player in the league and was selected in the "Team of the year".
