Gene Budig
Gene A. Budig (May 25, 1939 – September 8, 2020) was an American baseball executive. He was the last president of the American League (AL), from 1994 to 1999.[1] He was born in McCook, Nebraska.
Budig went on to become part-owner of a minor league baseball team. He was also President of Illinois State University between 1973 to 1977, West Virginia University between 1977 to 1981 and University of Kansas between 1980 to 1994.
Budig died on September 8, 2020 in Charleston, South Carolina from liver disease at the age of 81.[2]
