Gershon Shafat

Gershon Shafat (Hebrew: גרשון שפט, 6 December 1927 – 16 August 2020) was an Austrian-born Israeli politician. He was a member of the Knesset for Tehiya from 1984 to 1992. He was born in Vienna.

He became a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement, and later joined the National Religious Party. In 1946 he was amongst the founders of kibbutz Ein Tzurim.

Shafat died on 16 August 2020 in Tel Aviv, aged 92.[1]
