Gideon Meir

Gideon Meir (Hebrew: גדעון מאיר) (8 January 1947 – 15 February 2021) was an Israeli politician. He was the Ambassador to Italy and Malta from 2006 until 2012. He drafted the Egypt–Israel peace treaty in 1979. Meir was born in Jerusalem.

Meir died of cancer on 15 February 2021 in Jerusalem, a month after his 74th birthday.[1]
