Gido Kokars
Gido Kokars (16 August 1921 – 10 March 2017) was a Latvian conductor.[1] He was the twin brother of Imants Kokars, who was also a renowned conductor. He was born in Gulbene, Latvia. His career began in 1951.
Career
In 1951, he graduated from a music school in Cesis. In 1956, he conducted at the Latvian Conservatory choir conducting class. During the period from 1951 to 1958, he was the Riga Pedagogical Institute music teacher. He conducted at the Institute of the mixed choir "Daina". Later, Kokars conducted Riga radiorūpnīca (RRR) men's choir "Auseklis" folk choir "Daile", Bauska District Teachers Choir "Daina", chamber choir "Ave Sol" (was it an artist and director). Several Latvian Song and Dance Festival conductor.
