Granny (c. 1911c. January 2017), also known by scientific name J2, was an orca, or killer whale. With an age of about 105, Granny was the oldest orca humans know of to ever live. She was first captured in 1967 with a group of orcas. However, she was believed to be too old for public aquariums and was released.[1]

In January 2017, it was announced that researchers considered Granny dead. She had last been seen on October 12, 2016.[2]
