Great Canfield
Great Canfield is a village and civil parish in Uttlesford, Essex, England. In 2001 there were 364 people living in Great Canfield.[1] It has a church called St Mary.[2] It includes the hamlets of Hope End Green, Canfield Hart, Bacon End and Green Street.[3]

Great Canfield Media
St. Mary's church, Great Canfield, Essex Apart from the 15th century belfry, the church is essentially Norman. The best feature of the church is a wall painting of the Virgin and Child, dated 1250 and said to be one of the best examples in the country. Close to the church is the remains of a motte and bailey castle.
