Greene County, Tennessee
Greene County is a county on the eastern border of the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 70,152.[1] The county seat is Greeneville.[2] The county is named for Nathanael Greene[3] (1742-1786), a major general in the Continental Army from Rhode Island.
Greene County was formed in 1783 from the original Washington County.
