Hadrawi

Mohamed Ibrahim Warsame[a] (1943 – 18 August 2022), known by the pseudonym Hadrawi,[b] was a Somali poet, philosopher and songwriter. He was thought by many to be the greatest living Somali poet. His works have been compared to that of Shakespeare.[1] His poetry has been translated into many languages.[2][3] Hadrawi was born in Burco, British Somalia. He was honored with the Prince Claus Award in 2012.

Hadrawi died on 18 August 2022 in Hargeisa, Somaliland at the age of 79.[4]
