Harold Denton

Harold Ray Denton (February 24, 1936 – February 13, 2017) was an American civil servant. He served as the Director of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) from 1988 until his retirement in 1998. He is best known for his role as President Jimmy Carter's personal adviser for the Three Mile Island (TMI) accident.
Denton was born in Rocky Mountain, North Carolina. He died at his home in Knoxville, Tennessee from complications of Alzheimer's disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, aged 80.[2]
