Hattie Caraway
Hattie Ophelia Wyatt Caraway (February 1, 1878 — December 21, 1950) was the first woman elected to serve a full term in the United States Senate. She was the Senator from Arkansas for just over thirteen years (December 1931 to January 1945).
Caraway had a stroke in 1950. She died later that year in Falls Church, Virginia due to this stroke.
