Heavy D
Dwight Arrington Myers (May 24, 1967 - November 8, 2011), better known by his stage name Heavy D, was a Jamaican-born American rapper, singer, actor, and musician. He was born in Mandeville, Jamaica and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, United States. He began his music career in the late 1980s and founded his hip hop group, Heavy D and the Boyz. The group were affiliated with East Coast hip hop music.
He died in Los Angeles, California from a pulmonary embolism as a result of diabetes.
