Helen Sommers
Helen Sommers (March 29, 1932 – March 7, 2017) was an American politician. She served in the Washington House of Representatives from 1972 to 2009. She represented the 36th district, as a member of the Democratic Party.[1] At the time of her retirement she was the state's longest serving legislator.[2]
Sommers was born in Woodbury Heights, New Jersey. She studied at the University of Washington.[3] Sommers died on March 7, 2017 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida from natural causes, aged 84.[4]
