Hocine Aït Ahmed

Hocine Aït Ahmed (Arabic: حسين آيت أحمد; (August 20, 1926 – December 23, 2015) was an Algerian politician.[1] He was founder and leader of the historical political opposition, Socialist Forces Front, in Algeria until 2009. He was born in Ain El Hammam, Algeria. Arrested and sentenced to death in 1964, he escaped from the El Harrach prison on May 1, 1966. Exiled in Switzerland, he became a doctor of law.

Aït Ahmed died at age 89 in Lausanne, Switzerland on December 23, 2015.[2]
