Hugo Banzer
Hugo Banzer Suárez (May 10, 1926 – May 5, 2002) was a Bolivian politician, military general, and dictator. He was the President of Bolivia. He held the Bolivian presidency twice: from 1971 to 1978, as a dictator; and then again from 1997 to his resignation in 2001.[1]
Banzer was born in Concepción, Santa Cruz. He studied at the School of the Americas. Banzer died on May 5, 2002 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia from lung cancer, aged 75.
