Indiana Bell

The Indiana Bell Telephone Company is the telecommunications network under which the U.S. state of Indiana is operated. The company was established in 1920.[1] It does business by the AT&T Indiana name.[2]

The headquarters of Indiana Bell are in Indianapolis (the capital of the State of Indiana). Following the Bell System being dissolved in early 1984, Indiana Bell was owned by Ameritech until late 2002.[3] Beginning in early 1993, the Indiana Bell name was dropped for use of the Ameritech identity as a corporate name. In late 2002 or early 2003 the Indiana Bell was renamed SBC Indiana after the Ameritech name was phased away.[4] Three years later in 2006 (following the merger of BellSouth and AT&T), the Indiana Bell began d/b/a (operating as) AT&T Indiana.[5]
