Intraplate earthquake
An intraplate earthquake is an earthquake that does not occur at the border of one tectonic plate, but inside the plate. Most earthquakes occur at the boundary of different plates. An example of an intraplate earthquake is the 1811-12 New Madrid Earthquake.
