One of the small scale uses of isopropyl alcohol is in cloud chambers. Isopropyl alcohol has ideal physical and chemical properties to form a supersaturated layer of vapor which can be condensed by particles of radiation.

Safety
Isopropyl alcohol evaporates very quickly and is very flammable, so it should be kept away from fire or any potential ignition source.
Isopropyl alcohol is more toxic than ethanol, but less toxic than methanol. Death from isopropanol consumption is rare.
