Jack LaLanne
Francois Henri "Jack" LaLanne (September 26, 1914 – January 23, 2011) was an American inventor, writer, actor, fitness and exercise instructor and expert who was known for helping people to get fit and healthy.

Early life
LaLanne was born Francois Henri LaLanne in San Francisco, California on September 26, 1914. He was raised in Bakersfield, California.
Career
LaLanne hosted his own show The Jack LaLanne Show and appeared in cameo appearances in some movies. LaLanne was also known for swimming in the San Francisco bay with a small fishing boat tied to a rope in his mouth.
LaLanne has a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also received many nicknames, such as "The Godfather of Fitness" or "First Fitness Superhero."[1] LaLanne has beat Arnold Schwarzenegger in a fitness contest in his 50s.
Personal life
LaLanne was married to Irma Navarre from 1942 until they divorced in 1948; they had one daughter. Then he married Elaine Doyle from 1959 until his death in 2011, they had two sons and one daughter.
Death
On January 23, 2011, LaLanne died at his home in Morro Bay, California from respiratory failure due to pneumonia. He was 96 years old.[2]
