James Todd Smith (born January 14, 1968) is an American rapper and actor. He is known professionally as LL Cool J (Ladies Love Cool James).[1]

He currently stars on the CBS crime drama television series NCIS: Los Angeles as Special Agent Sam Hanna. As a rapper, he has released thirteen studio albums. Some of his most well known songs are "Mama Said Knock You Out", "I'm Bad", "Rock the Bells", "I Can't Live Without My Radio", and "The Boomin' System". His last album Authentic was released on April 30, 2013.[2]

Cool J is married to his wife Simone[3] and is a Christian.[4]
