Jean-Paul Pier
Jean-Paul Pier (July 5, 1933 – December 14, 2016)[1] was a math scholar from Luxembourg. He worked on harmonic analysis and history of mathematics.

In 1971, he made the "Séminaire de mathématiques" (Mathematics Seminar) at the Centre universitaire de Luxembourg (now the University of Luxembourg).
In 1989, he made the Luxembourg Mathematical Society. He was president of this Society from 1989 to 1993 and from 1995 to 1998.
During the school year 1994–1995, he was a visiting professor at the Université catholique de Louvain.
He died in Bettembourg, Luxembourg on December 14, 2016 at the age of 83.
