Jean Lèques

Jean Lèques (31 August 1931 – 1 June 2022)[1] was a New Caledonian politician. He was mayor of Nouméa from 1986 to 2014. From 1999 and 2001 he was the first president of the government of New Caledonia.[2] Lèques was born in Nouméa. He was a member of The Rally–UMP.

Lèques died on 1 June 2022 in Nouméa, aged 90.[3]
