Jens Beutel
Jens Beutel (12 July 1946 − 8 May 2019) was a German politician. He was a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). From 1997 to 2011, he served as the Lord Mayor of Mainz, the state capital of Rhineland-Palatinate. He was also a chess player. He was born in Lünen, Westphalia.
Beutel died on 8 May 2019, at the age of 72.[1]
