Jewish Defense League
The Jewish Defense League (JDL) is a Jewish organization started in the US in 1968. Its stated goal is to "protect Jews from antisemitism by whatever means necessary".[5] The JDL was suspected of plotting to bomb the King Fahd Mosque in Culver City, California.[6] The FBI called the JDL a "right-wing terrorist group",[7] labeling it a terrorist group since 2001. In a 2004 congressional testimony, John S. Pistole described the JDL as "a known violent extremist Jewish organization."[8] The MIPT Terrorism Knowledge Base said that it has been "an active terrorist organization" since its first two decades of activity.[9] They also said the "JDL was the second-most active group in the U.S."[9] It is designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.[10]
