Jharia coalfield
Jharia coalfield is a large coal field in Jharia, Jharkhand, in the east of India. Jharia has the largest coal reserves in India with an estimated 19.4 billion tonnes of coking coal.[1]

A lot of the local population work at Jharia coalfield.[2]

Jharia Coal mine with smoke and burning embers coming from the underground coal field fire. The fire has burned for nearly a century and displaced or endangered the health of 100s of thousands of people.
