Jishnu

Jishnu Raghavan Alingkil (23 April 1979 – 25 March 2016),[1] known mononymously as Jishnu, was an Indian actor who predominantly appeared in Malayalam films.[2] He was the son of actor Raghavan. He is best known for his debut film Nammal (2002),[3] for which he received the Kerala Film Critics Association Award for Best Actor. His last film was Traffic (2016).[4][5]

Early life and education

Jishnu is the son of the film actor and director Raghavan[6][7] and Shobha. He did his schooling in Chennai and later at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram. He attended a B.Tech in at the National Institute of Technology Calicut.[8][9][10][11]

Personal life

He was married in 2007 to his longtime girlfriend Dhanya Rajan, who was his junior at college and is an architect.[12][13][14]

Death

Jishnu was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2014.[15] Then, he had underwent surgery and got completely cured in it.[16] The cancer went into remission, then relapsed on 2015[17] and he underwent treatment for it. He died due to lung cancer at the age of 36 on 25 March 2016 at Amrita Hospital in Kochi.[18][19]
