John Pinto (December 15, 1924 – May 24, 2019)[1][2] was an American Democratic politician.[3][4] He was a member of the New Mexico Senate from 1977 until his death in 2019. He was the longest-serving member in the Senate. Pinto represented the 3rd District.
Pinto was born in Lupton, Arizona, in the Navajo Nation. He was in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was a Navajo code talker. Pinto died in Gallup, New Mexico, on May 24, 2019 at the age of 94.[5][6]
