John Tavares
John Tavares (born September 20, 1990) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He currently plays for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is the current captain of the Maple Leafs.

Tavares takes a face-off during the 2006–07 OHL season. During that season he was selected as an OHL representative for the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.
Tavares with Oshawa Generals in November 2008. He was later traded to the London Knights in January 2009.
Tavares as a rookie with the New York Islanders in November 2009 during the 2009–10 season.
Tavares in his second year as the Islanders' alternate captain. He was named to the position during the 2011–12 season.
Tavares in March 2018, during the 2017–18 season, his last with the Islanders.
