Kashinath Shetgaonkar

Kashinath Anant Shetgaonkar[1] also spelled as Kashinath Shetgaokar, was an Indian politician from Goa. He was a former member of the Goa Legislative Assembly and represented the Pernem Assembly constituency from 1963 to 1967. He served as a member of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party.[2]

Personal life

Shetgaonkar had a son, Jayesh Kashinath Shetgaokar (born 1981) who is a politician and businessperson from Mormugao, Goa.[3]

Career

Shetgaonkar successfully contested in the 1963 Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly election from the Pernem Assembly constituency on the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party ticket. He defeated Indian National Congress candidate by a majority of 1,273 votes.[4] In the 1967 Goa, Daman and Diu Legislative Assembly election, Shetgaonkar was later succeeded by Bhalchandra Kinlekar of the same party.[5]
