Ken Bald

Kenneth Bruce Bald[1] (August 1, 1920 – March 17, 2019) was an American illustrator and comic book artist. He was born in New York City. He was best known for the Dr. Kildare and Dark Shadows newspaper comic strips. His works were published under the name "K. Bruce" on the Dark Shadows strip.[2]

His papers, including more than 2,900 pieces of original artwork for the Judd Saxon and Dr. Kildare comic strips, reside at Syracuse University Libraries Special Collections Research Center.[3]

Bald died at a retirement home on March 17, 2019 in Mount Arlington, New Jersey, aged 98.[4]
