Career
Loureiro started playing acoustic guitar when he was 11 years old. He switched to playing the electric guitar when he was 13, because he liked many guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen. When he was 19, he helped make the Brazilian power metal band Angra.[1]
In April 2015, Loureiro joined American thrash metal band Megadeth.[2] This was because guitarist Chris Broderick left the band. While he was with the band, Megadeth won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance.[3]
