Koprivnica is a city in northern Croatia. It is the capital and the largest city of the Koprivnica-Križevci County. In 2011, 30,854 people lived there.
History
Koprivnica has a history similar to the nearby city of Varaždin. It was first written about in 1272 in a document by Prince László IV. In 1356, King Lajos I made it a free royal town. Since then, it grew as a trading place and a military fortress.
