Kwasi Kwarteng
Kwasi Kwarteng (born Akwasi Addo Alfred Kwarteng; 26 May 1975)[1][2] is a British Conservative Party politician. He has served as Chancellor of the Exchequer from 6 September to 14 October 2022.[3] He was the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy from 2021 to 2022. He has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Spelthorne since 2010. He became known for promoting and passing Prime Minister Liz Truss's controversial economic plans which caused a national crisis and his firing.
