Laisenia Qarase

Laisenia Qarase (4 February 1941 – 21 April 2020) was a Fijian politician. He served as the sixth Prime Minister of Fiji from 2000 to 2006. In 2001, he founded the political party, Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua (SDL). He was born in Vanua Balavu, Lau Islands.

Qarase died in Suva on 21 April 2020 at the age of 79.^[1]
